INTRODUCTION
With creation of The Centre at Kerikeri, New Zealand’s northernmost territory has an indoor venue capable of showcasing regional arts, crafts, culture, commerce, production and recreation.
Equally, The Centre will bring the world to the Far North, in the sense of providing facilities of a standard to attract performing arts, exhibitors and others from far afield. For promoters of national and international acts, The Centre completes a chain of modern entertainment venues that begins in Invercargill.
Kerikeri sits on the westernmost reaches of New Zealand’s most popular marine playground, the Bay of Islands. It occupies a pivotal point on Northland’s Twin Coast Discovery Highway system and is home of the district’s busiest airport. Thus The Centre is perfectly located to serve residents and visitors alike.
Key facilities within the venue are:
- Fully featured 400+ seat auditorium theatre with 18m fly tower
- 350 sq metre, sub-divisible functions and events hall. Often referred to as "Downstairs at The Centre," this area is useful for meetings and conferences as well as small, intimate or casual performances.
- Theatre Bar and reception facilities
